In the G.S.A. the is a system in which all teams are assessed based on their members individual skills, noterity and competition record. The higher these three categories the higher the rank of a team.
1st Echelon:Teams of this level are few and far in between. They compete worldwide and are recognized world wide for their skills and near perfect records. These teams get access to exclusive parts and equipment. These teams consists of riders that are at the Virtuoso level in that each member has mastered their respective riding styles and the skill within them. These teams compete in global and exclusive competitions to maintain their rank or allow others to join them.
Only 1st Echelon teams are able to compete in the GSA Top Eight Competition.
2nd Echelon: This level of team is seen as the professional level within the G.S.A. Teams in this level are allowed to compete in some international events and are known to some degree outside of their home country. These teams get access to rare parts and equipment and have more impressive records
3rd Echelon: This is the Intermediate level within the G.S.A. All teams at this level can compete in national competitions and have an solid record of wins and losses. Teams incorporate custom parts/equipment into their competition style to offset their skills. Teams within this level are nationally recognized in their home country and may have some endorsements.
4th Echelon:These are teams that are made of more experienced riders with a few wins (and loses0 under their belts. They are deemed as above average but still not professional material just yet. better quality equipment and customization plays a bigger role in the teams performance as well. 4th Echelon teams are typically well known locally in their hometown.
5th Echelon: This is the starting level for all teams in the G.S.A. As such teams at this level are seen as the most inexperienced and are less well known. They generally have a collective of average Riders with stock or minimally upgraded/customized AT or Reff-boards.
